First day of design challenge prompt.

This is my submission for the first day of the 12 Days of Design challenge hosted by an amazing UX designer, Mel @prettylittleux on Twitter. The prompt as seen in the image above, is to complete a task analysis for finding the perfect jeans and propose a solution to make the task easier.

Assumption

I already had an assumption concerning the user before I started the task analysis:

  1. The user already knows their jean size.

Task Analysis

I went ahead to conduct the task analysis, following the guidelines in the resources Mel shared.

User Problems

  1. The user might not know their jean size.
  2. Non-returnable policy when the user does not like the jean, on delivery.
  3. The issue of what I ordered vs what I got, a Nigerian term for a situation when items ordered online do not look like what they seem online, on delivery.

Proposed Solutions

  1. Stores could add size recommender tools to their product pages, for users who do not know their sizes. There could also be virtual try-on tools to visually show users how the jeans would look on their body.
  2. There could also be a section in the app(a filter) where users can input their sizes to help them save time browsing through available options.
  3. A return policy could be set up. For example, clothes could be returnable within 2–15 days of delivery.
  4. All necessary information about the jeans that could be useful to users, should be provided in the product description.

Conclusion

It was fun doing this, as I got to talk to people and ask questions about how they buy their jeans.

Thank you for reading, I hope you loved this! Please leave a clap, I would really love to read your comments on this.
